    One of the most remarkable eating establishments in the Mother Lode. We dine here periodically with friends who have an Indian daughter-in-law (a superb chef who has taught them a great appreciation for this cuisine). They and we heartily agree with our friends great appreciation for the food -- and service -- at Taste of Himalaya. Five diners in our party -- five Thumbs Up

    Fantastic first lunch there. Great samosas, chicken tandoori and tikka marsala. The sides were tasty too... including the fresh naan. Good sized portions too. Will be back.

    What a gem! We did not expect to find such high quality Indian food in Jackson, but we sure did. The Namaste Mixed Grill was outstanding, the Saag Paneer was very fresh, and the Veggie Tikka Masala was super flavorful! And do yourself a favor and get the mamosa starter - so tasty. They have a huge menu and it was hard to choose! And the help was so friendly, too. The Yelp reviews pushed us to try this place and we are glad we followed the advice of other Yelpers!

    There are a multitude of choices on the menu, but only one designated vegan option. However, if you ask, you will find that there really are about a handful more vegan options than the one stated at the top of the menu. I'm glad I asked bc I was hoping to get the Dal, but luckily the waiter knew that there was butter in that dish. He pointed out the other vegan options for us. We ended up getting Chana Masala (mild) and Aloo Gobi (spicy). I really liked the serving bowls. We also had rice & chapati. The dishes were excellent and we can definitely see stopping here again the next time we are in town. We had total confidence in our waiter that he knew what was/wasn't vegan. Plenty of parking and the facilities inside were clean.
